Went for a quick Flick today in the Burleigh canals for about a half hour before heading to mates for house warming ale & landed my first Legal Bream on SP. Berkley Power grub in pumpinseed colour was the SP the fat 32cm bream took a liking too on my third cast & i also missed a couple of other decent hits on the drop in my tight time frame.. i've been going back for good session in the nearly future..

If you are wondering he was released to fight other day.. Or to eat my SP! :P

It's taken me four mouths to catch my 1st legal bream as i started using SP's in january this year..

My first fish, a flathead came off my second cast ever of SP's where i snagged 3 nice flatheads in that session & i have only had 2 sessions where i've never caught anything..

It's great learning curve when you start to great the feel of hits & pick ups from fish...

It's the best thing to come along in my fishing..

Well done mate. I have only ever got two bream on SP's and that was in August 2004!!! haven't got one since but heaps of flatties and other species.

I got excited on the weekend when a fish took my SP and I could see the silver colour in the shallows thinking I had finally cracked it for a bream only to land a little tailor. Very disappointing.

Regards

Chris

well in saint, mate pulling good beam on SP's is harder than bait as it takes more effort and concentration but im sure you'll agree with me that when you get onto a decent specimen like that it makes it all worthwhile, did he just smash it or was he a little subtle with it?

I felt him pick up & run with it in his month from off the bottom after a long pause..

I was fishing it really Slow which i believe is the key to catching bream after picking one up today in the same way..
