After a very early start got to Noosa right on sunrise. Headed out with our softy gear and started off popping for trevs while it was still dark. 2nd cast while i was still rigging up, my brother Fritzy (Kris) goes yep im on.... a bream in the middle of the river on a big popper... that pretty much summed up the day we had. After that the action slowed but as the tide started to run out we found a hot little patch around a bridge... pulled a heap of bream, small trevs and moses perch out and one little cod. While drifting jsut apst the bridge my brother hooks up to a moses and as he gets it near the surface an absolute horse of an estuary cod starts circling it. I jsut yelled out leave the fish in the water and about 2 seconds later this cod which wouldve gone close to 10lb, jsut engulfed the poor moses. Well the cod did actually hook up, however the fight sure didnt last long and the 6lb line wasnt much of a match for this beast, busting him off on the rocks. Pretty incredible thing to see though. So we then headed back up the river and tried another spot which resulted in more bream, trevs, moses and flathead, before finally heading right up the river where there were a few birds diving. Kris fired out a cast and seconds later was onto an absolute horse of a tailor. I wouldnt have backed myself with 100lb trace on this thing, haha let alone the 6lb we were using and after a minute or two it bit him off. It would've gone close to 7 lb though... it wasnt a small one!!! With time running short we headed back to the bridge where we ahd our earlier sucess, and pulled a few more moses perch and trevs. Last cast call went out and Kris of course decides to finish of a great day on a high, and lands a pretty solid spangled emperor. Ok last cast again, lands a moses perch, ok last cast again, and would you believe it lands his first ever diamond trevally. WEnt about 35-40 cm so put up a great show. It was an absoultely awesome seshion, with over 30 fish brought to the boat in a few hours. Unfortunately nothing huge, but the excitement of the cod and tailor, aswell as the surprises of the spangly and diamond made for an awesome sesh. cant wait to get back out there!!! Sorry no pics... bloody digi's batteries are out.

Cheers

Congrats on a hot session Jackash - it is always rewarding when you make the effort to get up before first light and the fish decide to play the game.

But it is always the way when you have a great day and you don't have the photos to show off - at least you and your brother can still share the memories.
