Great weather forecast today so headed out to peel for an SP session before the crowds over the long weekend. In my fav spot just before sunlight, really quiet early but started to pick up as the sun rose.
Not quite an pure SP session as I had my new baitrunner 6500 hanging out the back with a poddy mullet on gangs.
End result - squire at 49cm and 46cm, couple of small sharks, pike, grinners, and undersize squire/sweetlip.
The larger shark was off the mullet, the other was off a 4" assassin in pumpkinseed :D
Had a blistering run early on which took about 80m from of my line in 5 sec, couldn't even slow it down before it broke me off on the reef. Oh well, the risks of using 8lb line. It probably would have spooled me anyway.
