Well what more can i say.
Great to see that all the weather reports were right for Sat night NNNNNNNNOOTTT #
Had the boat in the water by 2.00pm on Sat and the #plan was to get some livies and head over and fish the N/W of Mud.Everything was going to plan until we arrived at mud.10/15 knots.Yeah right #
Decided on trying a spot down the western side but with the conditions still getting worse i made the call to head further south to get out of the wind.
Dropped the pick at the S/W corner and within minutes landed a nice squire but not quite legal #
Things can only get better #
Within an hour the wind felt like it had doubled it's speed and cond were not looking good #
Headed further south to get out of the wind and get some sleep #
Woke just before 4.00am to still water and no wind Time to head north again.
Conditions were still ordinary up the top end but we persisted in hope of getting a feed.with only small squire and a few small cod comming aboard things weren't looking good #
Caught up with Skippa & Hooter #while we were there and was good to see that they were keeping all the catfish to themselves.
Spent most of the morning running around in search of some decent fish with not a great deal of luck
with mostly undersized squire and cod being landed.
Pulled the pin at 1.00pm with hope of having a feed in the pots.1 crab isn't what you would call a feed.
This one is for Skippa.
Yes us Haines owners do get wet...Very wet.Copped one over the bow and straight up over the screen while picking up the pots.
All in all not the best weekend out but as always just good to be on the water #
Cheers Dazza
