Started out last night at mouth of the brisbane but it was so rough we had a hard time controling the electric and kept getting blown of cource so we desided to pack up and head to the gold coast cause we heard condition were perfective and when we got there it could of not been a better night the tide was so high when we got to the boat ramp and i was very keen for a fish we started off a around a spot i know and ended up staying there most of the night there were trevs smashing every were and could not get passed them to target some of the bigger bream i cant remember how many trevs we caught because we got one almost every 2 cast .When we got to the spot were i normaly pull the big bream from it seemed the trevs had backed of a bit know and we got some nice bream the biggest went 39cm to the fork and it seemed they were all around this size we got about 14 bream between the two of us and got snapped of quite a lot to what we thought must of been massive bream because they did not feel like the trevs we were useing 6 pound braid and around 6 pound leader it was a great night because of how many fish were around on the chew .
Attached is a few photos .

Yeah it was a super good night for fishing hey Tarrant and it sure was great to see them swim off to, after the fights some of those fish put up they deserved to. Pitty we couldnt get into the squire and jewies in the brissy but the trevs and bream more than made up for that.

i made a call to the dpi and made the enquiry,,, after about 10-15 mins on hold being transferred etc,,, i was asked to call another number that didn't answer

i release 95% of my catch, unless the home front is after a feed,, but i've been toying with the idea for a couple of months,,, time to find out,,, i'll give you a pm if i succeed and let ya know,,, or someone else may put a heads up once reading this,,

Giday Jackextracter,
mate those fish are sensational :o :o. I haven't caught a bream like that for years ::), let alone one on a softie. Just wondering, were you guys fishing those lures in pitch darkness, photos look pretty dark in the background, cause i have never had much success without at least some light on the water. Is there a different way of working them in darkness?
I am hoping to head down the goldie tomorrow, any chance you could share a few details on your spots? Could send us a pm if you were feeling nice. Otherwise mate, i fully understand if you don't want to share.
Also mate, i've been doing quite a bit of fishing down the goldie with my brother Jackash, would be good to catch up with you fellas for a fish sometime.
Once again congrats on some fantastic fish.
Cheers Fritzy

Great fish, those bream were some thumpers. Going back a few years but tags were supplied by D.P.I. to sportfishing clubs and were at times hard to get and were only supplied to target species that the D.P.I. were requiring imformation or logistics on. It may have changed that was a few years back.

the tagging program is run by Sunfish. Have a look at http://www.info-fish.net/

Not sure, but you may need to be a member of one of the ANSA clubs to be eligible. If you need more info PM me.

Nice fish guys. Good to see the big bream about. Trevs every 2nd cast? Id like to see that. Ive been on top of schools of em, and they dont take any lure sometimes, so well done.

Jeremy is correct, you need to be a member of an ANSA club to tag fish. Also, only some species are tracked and not others. Im not sure if bream are on the list. Jacks are tho ;) I caught a tagged cod a few months ago and looked into it. I may get myself ANSA legal and buy a tag kit before next years jack season, and Im encouraging other jack targeters to do the same. You get a certificate for every fish you catch thats tagged, and if someone else catches your tagged fish, you get told all the info.

The more info the better. yay for the scientists.
