What happened to all the fish at the Spit and Logan River? All fishermen in both were out of luck as far as I could see.
Tried fishing at Spit between 10 and 12 - nothing then went to Logan River till about 3 again nothing

What were you fishing for boet? What were you using ou maat? Gotta target your fish more, sounds like you you are just hoping to catch fish, not targeting the fish you want to catch.

Cheers from a fellow Safa.

Chubby,

I may have just been one of those day where nothing much happens. :-/ also what bait did you use and what tide. I personally find the turn of the tide the best in the areas you mentioned, assuming you were landbased.

White_Steenbras,

With a name like that and that linger you write of (boet). I assume the Safa stands for an "escapee" from South Africa. If that's the case then that encludes myself, except I don't speak you linger. :P

Cheers
Craig

Hey skollies!
Looks like this is the 'wenwee' ("When we were back in...") reunion room! Zimbabwean exile here- in Brisbane and loving being able to fish without a sidearm!
I've tried the areas you mentioned, same result. Local knowledge is invaluable- find out what you're chasing and rig up accordingly. An hour either side of high tide is what you wish for, check the tide tables on this site.
Might have to organise a braai and a few beers one arvo?

i was chasing bream and whiting on prawns and worms and sardines as bait but no luck as you look over the pier in the crystal clear water one could see the black bream swimming but they were just not biting a local said that they were probably vegetarian

ek sien dat daar is baie mense van sa hier wat hou van vis.

Ludrick are Vegie fish. you need to use cabbage (the saltwater one :P) to catch them. I have heard of some people catching them on live yabbies but that dosn't happen often.

Stick with it mate, you will work out where the fish are holding soon:) don't forget one of the biggest things is to use the least amount of lead possable to keep your bait on the bottom or where you want to fish it. if the fish are a bit finicky a big chunk of lead holding your bait down will put them off.

cheers
Brandon.
