The weather looked pretty good this morning so headed out to my usual spots out at peel for a quick plastics session. Its getting bloody cold to be going out before sunset in an open boat :P.

Result - squire at 54cm (1.8kg), 44cm, 42cm, and 41cm. Plus a couple undersize, heap of grinners, and a small flattie.

Seemed like a quiet session with few bites, but still a few good fish landed.

All fish caught on 4" assassins in various colours.

Back at the ramp I noticed some birds working the shallows next to the ramp, further inspection revealed that someone had dumped a heap of fish carcasses. After a closer look I noticed that there were also fillets with those carcasses. :-/ After scratching my head for a while wondering why someone would dump fillets, I suddenly realised that the fish frames were of squire 30-35cm and undersize mackeral. Obviously the inspectors had caught onto someone and got them to dispose of the fish. Real shame, and major thumbs down to those who kept and filleted the undersize fish. >:( They obviously caught plenty, and must have got some legals with the undersize, I don't understand why people get greedy and want to keep the undersize as well...

At least the inspectors caught them rather than them getting away with them.
Some nice squire there though a nice mornings work!

Nice feed of squire there mate [smiley=thumbsup.gif]. Hopefully these people or person were caught with the undersize fish and didn't get the chance to dump the fish before being checked.

Sounds like they may have been dumped before inspectors got hold of them. :(I'm sure if they caught them with enough to charge them then they would confiscate and keep for evidence>

Wish they had been caught, sounds like they did a dodgey! Wish the inspectors would come down the CB Bridge and bust some ass sometime, seen heaps of scumbags take Bream 20cm and less, I just can't fathom WHY????

Nice fish though mate. ;D

If the winds stay down, I might give Peel a go this weekend. I have some snapbacks I have been wanting to try out.

Were you drifting the east side of Peel?

Cheers

Marcel.

About 5m of water. I fished various locations around the island, not just from one spot. I like to keep a move when SP fishing. There are plenty of squire at the dropoffs all around peel.
