Howdy Folks, 2 boats 4 fisherman head out for a trip to Tangalooma at 10-30 am this morning.
Target was to catch a few snapper on soft plastics from around the Tangas area.
Conditions today were nothing short of sensational with almost a flat bay.
Trip took 30 minutes and on arrival at Tangas started trolling a paravane with a raider lure attached.
Trolled between 2 beacons and up to the Neilson Wreck for not even a touch.
Water was clear and the tidal run slow to medium.
Not a breath of wind and blue skies.
Doesn,t get much better than this.
Okay maybe a fish or 3 would make the day just a bit more special but at Tangas it wasn't to be.
Steven 78 managed a squire at 35cm (released) and yes those pesky grinners have put on weight..lol
Tide was half way in so we decided with no fish around to find some new fishable territory for our next trip.
We found some nice pinnacles that rose 6 metres off the sea floor :o
Punched in the GPS for our next snapper session.
2hours now before high tide so we set off for our return journey to Green and a stop at St Helena on the way.
Nothing at St so Green here we come!
Right on high tide 5 pm Green delivers.
My reel screems and then those head shakes mean't a small snapper for dinner.
Gee i love fishing with light gear!!
A 45cm snapper goes into the esky to ice down.
A lot of kilometres covered for 1 keeper but who cares when the bay conditions are fantastic.
Steven and i had some fun on the undersize throwback squire just on Dusk and then the place shut down.
Time to call it a day and head home.
Havn't had much luck in the bay the last few weekends but i suppose if the fish were so easy to catch we would all just be boating.
Cheers Brent :)
