took a mate of mine out this morning before work , there were tuna galore again big schools of mac tuna but on the outskirts of the school were big longtail had plenty of chances only landed one . had trouble matching the hatch in fly fishing terms ;D ;D ;D ;D

That is an awesome fish. 52 minutes of pure fish fighting skill. Steve tells me it weighed 19.5 kgs.

cheers james , yes it was 52 mins from hook up to landed in the boat , by my scales in the boat it went 19.5kg , and it was released .i must say i as pretty stuffed afterwards. :)

Now there's only one better waystart the day ;) - and if the missus is n't on the bite, yer longtail there looks like a damn fine 2nd! ;D
Good one mate- just out of interest, have you had any luck with Lazers or chrome slugs? The only Tuna I've caught (offshore Cape Town) was with a home made lure (stainless steel table-knife handle with a treble and swivel). Keen to get out and into the tuna this w/end.

was that you out the front of the surf club we were in a 4.6 centre console the 2 guys with the funny hats nice fish mate we didnt get a scale they were evry where they even nearly hiting our boat i didnt see any fish landed

They're so much fun arent they!!! I've never landed one yet, and I'm still addicted ;D Congrats on the catch buddy. Sure is a top way to start the day!!!

Troy I think you should get those scales checked that fish would only be 7 kilo at the most. I see Big_unit is still backing up your stories for you but then again that’s what mates do for each other.

yeah I would buy some new scales IMHO. Caught my first LT off the goldie on sunday no photo but he went only 5.5kg's and looked to be a similar size to the one in the photo???
They do fight well tho pound for pound :)
