Hi Ausfishers,

Been down to Wynnum this weekend and CB bridge and Brekky Creek. Result Wynnum, 8 squid, 4 GT's, 2 Flattys, 5 Tailor, 2 Crabs on the plakkys and a heap of Pike. CB, 12 Bream 24cm-38cm, 3 Flattys 39-63cm, 1 big Tailor 64cm, Ecod 29cm and a pinkie 38cm, with 2 bustoffs in there somewhere.

Brekky Creek, 3 Bream 29-35cm, 1 flatty nearly the size of the lure!!!! Found some good areas along the boardwalk that would be very fishy on a slower tide, will check it out this weekend and keep you guys posted. Must say that was a great weekend to break in the new reel. Can almost hear the sound of my first boat, just 2 months to wait, very excited.

Good fishing zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Now thats what I call fishing!

It's been a while since I've tried SP's. Used to do really well on them for barra and 'toga up in the Top End. Dropping at the base of Pandanus roots in the fresh water and casting or trolling (believe it or not) in the salt water. There was this spot at Shady Camp where a feeder creek came into the main channel facing upstream with a shear mud-bank on the downstream side. Great spot - it was amazing to watch eagle? rays surge up onto the bank sweeping baitfish up onto the flatter part of the bank and then slide back sucking 'em in. The barra must have hung with the lips almost touching the mud because the only way to get a strike was to turf the SP onto the flat part, let it drop off the edge and WHAM! Dunno how many we caught like this - dozens.

But this was fishing where you could fish with your eyes closed - catching in and around the city - thats all class.

Good onya Barnsey!

Hey Tinn, I usually pick some nice fish up at Wyn, problem is I hear that the pro netters get stuck in their very often. This was from a local who has witnessed it happen for many years.........I now worked out why the place would be hot for a couple days, then not even spot any fish the next 3-4 weeks, this used to happen back in Mel at my local pier and it was always netters.

Jim, some lekker castles are required soon Bru, enjoy the elf fishing, will call you.

Something really big broke my rod on the park side of the Brekky Ck mouth once.

Lots of tailor on the road side.

I sometimes wonder how safe the horses are swimming around the bend.

Hey Rod, will check out Springbok foods, see if he's got the Rum, know he's got lekker Droerwors, will call you when I'm down your way. What are those surface lures your'e getting the Bream on? I've found a new spot that looks very surfacey breamy and have caught a couple on my smallest popper. Problem is, is that they are sitting below the lure sort of testing it with their noses, need some advice mate, thanks Steve

T1, great to catch up mate and put name to face, will be fishing this weekend so will buzz you, my work email is under at the moment, the server crashed, chat soon Barnesy. ps those stone fish were a first, pretty funny to get the 2 in 2 casts.

Silent, congrats on the silver member, see you've been online a little longer than me, think my colour might change in next couple of weeks. Mate, trying to convince the girl about a boat, looking at a bream style Hornet, really will open up stacks more options and hopefully lots more fishy tales. Keep you posted.

Good luck Barnesy :)
