Well, could be one of my last fishing reports for peel for a while although I may get in another trip if my UK work permit is delayed again...

Wanted to beat the saturday crowds so headed out early friday morning into a fairly choppy bay. Only got worse as the sun got up and bloody cold too. Very quiet this time around at peel with very few hits on SP's. On one spot, my very first cast I hooked onto something big which ran for about 30-40m before my lure clip failed... :-[. Cursing, I cast again and hooked a 40cm squire which went straight into the esky. Then all went quiet.

Hooked a few pike and cut them up as bait, but no takers at all. Headed home with 1 fish in the esky.

No pics today as not much to take pictures of.

Tiny 2" berkley powerbait minnow in smelt. First time a clip has failed on me, my old man landed a 3kg specimen last week without the clip failing. Not my luck, I have now lost 3 big fish to being broken off...

Nope. Work permit delays means I'm still here (and not too happy about the delay because no job = no money).

Boat is still on the market but at this stage looks like it will be easier to leave it on consignment with a boat yard.

That sucks! Although was talking (aka drinking) with a guy last night who just got off the plane from london yesterday, and he said it is starting to warm up a little... I'm assuming that means it must be up to about 10 degrees now ;)

If you want, you can just leave the boat at my place.... I'll look after it for you, give it a hose down a bit, run the motor occassionally (In the water as it's the best) to keep it in top nick... ;D ;D ;D
