Went for a quick flick to try out my new Minn Kota that I bought off Marcel. It works fine Marcel, thanks, but I did flatten the battery after 3 hrs. I knew the battery was on the way out, so I had a new jump pack, but it was only good for one charge start? It failed to kick over the motor after that? Maybe it needs a charge straight out of the box, but it still read 12 volts, hmmm. Lucky the pull start works.

Yes the transom mount is ok, but I might upgrade to an autopilot by summer. Worked around spot x on the Nth Broadwater from 5pm to 8pm. Pulled a few small bream around 27-28cm and one big one 36cm to fork, 1.08kg ::)

He had a bite mark out of his back, obviously a shark victim or something at a young age, but managed to survive, until he fell to an Atomic grub lure about 1 inch. This was an hour or two before low tide, the current was raging, but he was hiding in a back eddy. If anyone wants to buy information, Im open to bribes before the comp ;D seeing as how I cant enter because of work commitments.
Just kidding.

Does anybody know what those baitfish are that are very attracted to the spotlight? They seem to follow it around, even schooling up behind teh boat when I point the light there. They look like some kind of white minnow. I suppose they must be a minnow then, duh. There was the odd juvenile gar hiding amongst them too. It pays to match the hatch with SPs. Nothing was biting the 3 inch SPs, so I dropped in size.

cheers
Andrew

Good Work. Sometimes these marks are due to being caught and released in nets when undersize.

Cheers.

Nice fish...gutsy is on the money, i think it is more possible its a net mark, have seen plenty of luderick and bream the same in heavily netted estuaries.

Hi I just caught 2 large sea bream down at the bedrooms and both had missing spines in same area. I to think they have been in a net at some stage. Have caught others around this area with same feature. :o Maybe they have travelled from Luggage point and ........................... :o

for the unbelievers ;).

show the scales with the fish on them, then we might beleive it.
For all we know, you could have your hand on them.

If you knew Andrew you wouldn't need to see the pic...

Its a bream, i couldnt give a rats ass if it was 2 kilo or 500grams.

Just saying, that if your gonna weigh it and take a photo, take a photo of the scales with the fish present in the photo, otherwise there will be people with elements of doubt.

Nice fish either way.

Cheers

Nice fish Andrew, might need to give your spot a try during the comp. Mate 1.1kg is a top Gold Coast bream, I would be happy with one of those as a kicker fish in a bag during the comp (or any other time for that matter).

Cheers

Thanx Dan,
dogbream obviously isnt aware of my thread a few weeks ago where I caught 2 bream at 1.1kg and a few didnt believe me. Personally, I as said last time, I dont think 1.1kg is huge, but its not bad either.

If I showed the fish on the scale, then you couldnt read the weight on the small screen. If you cant confirm the approx size of the fish by the pic that shows my thumb, then your not much of a fisherman.

The reason I bothered to post an average fish is because the catch was close to the upcoming tournament area, and my mates in the know can work out where Im talking about. ;) I felt it was important to them because of the prefish ban. Those that cant work it out dont need to know.

Seach my old bream posts doggy and check the photos. As another poster mentioned, there are still ways of lying, even by showing the entire fish and scales. Someone mentioned putting sinkers down a fishes mouth for photos , lol. You cant win. I might buy a brag mat tho to give some perspective to photos. It can be hard to judge size on a bland background.

No harm intended, or taken mate.
Its just a fish.

Andrew

I believe you, mate. 1.1 kg is my PB for bream.
As you say, it's not huge but it's not bad.

I reckon I've caught .8kg bream that fought harder than the 1.1.
