"If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So from my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you."
...or so says the old song, clearly espousing the maxim that beauty is only skin deep. #:-/
That is a shame really seeing as how so much is spent in the persuit of a nice skin. #The cosmetics shows that you see on the TV in the midnight to dawn timeslot gives evidence of that. #;D
But if the song holds true, a nice skin can be just a lie. # :-/
Harsh words I guess - but I feel cheated by the beauty of the fish that I caught tonight at Green Island. # :-[ :-[ :-[
Having enjoyd some profitable bream fishing at daybreak, my plan for the day was to have a mid-day snooze and to go back to Green Island at sunset to see if I could improve on the quality of the bream. #After all, having caught a nice feed this morning, I reasoned that the bream must have arrived. (Yippeee!!!!!) #;D ;D ;D
Alas! #It was not to be. #I had the snooze # ;) and went back to Green at sunset #:) but#I caught just one legal bream at Green Island tonight. :'(
However, I did catch one other fish that ignited my excitement. #::) ::) :) #Did not know what it was but it was sure pretty with lots of gold spots on its body and and stripes on its face. # :) :) :)
Rushed home through the storm and looked up Grants which did not show the exact fish so I then Googled it hungry with anticipation. #:P
In fact the answer came from an old Ausfish thread... #http://www.ausfish.com.au/cgi-ausfish/yabb2/YaBB.cgi?num=11222989280;start=all
Apparently, this gorgeous looking fish tastes like &#$*@&^% # #Damn! #:(
Ah well. #I shall have to try there again at daybreak tomorrow, weather permitting. #A beautiful calm night out there tonigt when I came in at about 8.30pm but the BOM shows that it blew a bit harder an hour or two later. #:(
The picture below shows my take for the night. #Sorry about the quality - it is a bad picture because it was taken with my mobile phone in the dark whilst still out in the Bay. #:-[
Both fish caught on prawns, 12 lb line, 10 1/2 ft Wilson Live Fibre, 6 inch lever drag Alvey reel.
:) :) :)
