Got down to the Goldcoast friday night after dark and headed straight to the gutter that has been fishing ok for the last couple of weeks. As soon as i walked onto the beach I could see that the nice deep opening to the gutter had closed, and as the tide was a fair way up it was hard to tell what else had changed . So I chucked out a mullet strip on a gang and started to get little touches, felt like bream . Switched to the bream gear after a bit to see if i could bring one in , no luck so went back to the tailor gear and hooked up solid on a good fish, that was really pulling hard, but the gear was up to the task and I was rewarded with a 50cm tailor. Soon after the tide changed & I did not get another touch.
Tried the same general area Saturday from 4.30 till daybreak & again Saturday arvo, but the swell had picked up over night and the dumpers were stirring the sand on the bank, with no entance to the gutter I think the fish stayed outside. I tried the bream gear again both sessions but was only getting tiddler touches ,so there was baitfish in the gutter but nothing feeding on them .

My brother took a photo of the fish on his phone, so if I can work out how to get it, ill post a pic
