Hi there Folks, Day 2 in the western Bay started off at dawn around Wello on a cool morning.
S/W winds to 8 knots pushed us away from the reef as we started the first drift.
A few enquiries saw double hook ups on the first casts and two 30cm squire were quickly unhooked and returned unharmed.
The action hotted up in the next hour with all three of us getting smoked on big fish.
A few keeper squire to 45cms found there way into the esky before the bite shut down.
Next stop was Green where more undersize fish were released.
Steven got the prize for biggest grinner of the day.
Mid morning and the fishing got slower and slower so its over to Peel to continue where we left off yesterday arvo.
Completely different conditions were encontered at Peel and we tried everything to get the boat drifting parallel to the reef but the tide and wind kept pushing us into the shallows.
The fish were scarce around Peel today but Steven did get a first for himself on a plastic.
A nice parrot Fell to a 3" gulp and after a quick photo was released.
Not the action we had yesterday but great weather and as they say there's always tomorrow.
Yep a few more days holiday left and what better way to enjoy yourself.
Cheers Brent
