Goldy Yesterday

Headed out yesterday to flick the canals around Broadbeach. With the comp the previous week and very very clear water dropped down to 2lb leader. Still wasnt much happening, until started working the eddies around a bridge. First cast had a solid hit but missed so wound in and jsut as the lure got to the surface a golden trev that wouldve been pushing 10lb followed the lure up and hit it, but misssed! Cast out to the same spot and this time WAMMO, peeled off a fair bit of line. Somehow managed to keep it out of the snags and rocks with the 2lb and after doing the hardwork and getting it in the clear.... and getting bloody excited at the though of a 10lb trev on 2lb line, the hook jsut pulled after about 2 minutes of fighting it. NOT HAPPY!!!! couldnt believe it but oh well thats fishing i guess. We managed a few decent bream and cod and flathead. Will posts pics when mate sends them to me

Sounds like you had a great day jackash, I would love some tips on fishing the goldie i am trying to get into SP's and am thinking that this would be a good spot to try, specially with the golden gotta love them.
