Decided to go for a quick pop for some tailor this afternoon off the bank. Went out on saturday arvo landing 6 fish all over 45cm biggest being in the high fiftys. My mate Glen dropped a big 1 at our feet after a decent fight and some airial manouvers. Estimated it to be 65-70cm. Left the camera at home that day so weve been waiting for some decent weather to get back and give it another crack. Got a fair few strikes the sarvo but only landed 2 fish. My fish fell off the trebles as we were getting the camera out but was only about 48cm give or take. The tailor in the bay have good quality lately so might target them out of th boat over the wkd. Poppers that were using are halco roosta poppers in 105 size. Pic of glen fish from today.

yeah that's a good question bingleboy, i would also be curious.
When fishing for tailr in the bay from a boat, what sort of areas do you target first??
you can get the tailor coming up a burley trail and use your popper in the trail

Hey fellas, Im not a diehard tailor fisherman but i always target them around rocky points and reef edges. Look for areas that jut out from the reef lines. I have found dusk and dawn are the best times to target them. Some of the fish we have been getting lately have been coming from water as shallow as 1ft. The location the land based fish have been coming from is in the Cleveland area.

you can pretty much find them at anytime of the day in the bay but we generally get them on slugs rather than poppers.. would be keen to give them a crack soon though
