G'day,
Daryl and I went and threw some plastics around in the shallow stuff at Redcliffe Wednesday with a lot of casts between fish. The numbers seem to have dropped off some from a couple of months ago but with some perseverence you can still manage a feed. The best snappery squire went 60cm and was taken home for a feed. Also landed were a couple of undersize squire, 1 at around 40cm and an estuary cod.
Yesterday, inspired by some recent AF reports, we tried the Brissy river without any luck for squire. It wasn't a dead loss though as a feed of winter whiting came aboard out past the mouth. Any tips on river squire would be greatly appreciated. I tried fishing Clara Rock, the wall on the southern bank across from Cement Australia and the wall on the river mouth side of Patrick's container wharf.

Cheers, Derek

You can catch some nice fish at the front wall of the Brisbane river. Have fished it a few times but not much luck persistance is the key. Sometimes the fish is there other times there not. Ask Ausfisher Chief for some tips he might be able to help you.

Nice work Derek! :D

Have you changed colours of plastics now? Were the fish on the casting rod, or the one out "the back"?

Thanks tinn. I had a look along that wall but thought it was a bit shallow.

Robb, salt water assassin 5 inch shiner (I think).

Dan, no they were on the old faithfulls although Daryl uses the wriggler tail type. I did get a packet of the flukes but couldn't get your colour. The cod was out the back. Will give you a yell in about 3 wks if you havn't left for your work trip if your keen for another bash.

Nice squire there dezzer, best eating at that size i reckon.
Looks like it was a bit lumpy out there on Wednesday.
Try drifting the stretch of water in the Brissy river beside the tug terminals.
Like the guys have said sometimes they are there and other times not.
Find a bait school and you can bet the squire are close behind.
Cheers Brent :)

For sure mate. Just let me know when. :D

I get mine at Lureworld online. They have the colour... I stocked up on a few packets the other day. They've been the best colour so far...
