Hit the mouth of the Logan Yesterday arvo for a pretty hot session. The weather was nasty but the fish were on the chew.

Hit a purple patch where i got slammed 4 casts in a row. Within about 30mins I pulled in 5 Bream and 1 Squire.
The best bream went 34cm. The squire only went 28cm, but boy did it pull hard - I can see why people chase them in the bay on bream gear.

After the wind got up we moved round the corner out of the wind to chase some flathead in the shallows.

I managed to get onto a nice 60cm or so flathead that bit me off at the boat - the 6lb vanish leader I was running didn't stand a chance - I'll have to remember to up it next time.

All fish were caught on Gulp Pumpkinseed 3" Minnow Grubs.

To round off the afternoon I managed to drop my sounder in the water at the ramp :( - Any idea how waterproof sounders are? It was in the drink for about 2.5 seconds before I rescued it - it's a Humminbird Matrix 25.

Sorry no pics - it wasn't really camera weather out there yesterday afternoon :'(

it should be ok, they are supposed to be waterproof. If not take it back to where you bought it , or better still call "BLA -Bob Littler Agencies" at Hemmant. They do repairs it is a 48 hour repair service. Good luck mate. ;)

Nice fish mate.

The hummingbird matrix sounders had a bit of a problem with getting water in behind the screen in some units. You might be lucky though. Probably better to get it checked out if it is not working.

Cheers

Thanks for the tips people - Much appreciated.

I'll let it get dry over the next few days and give it a go then. I'll keep you posted on how things go.

Nice catch oddbudman,

You always seem to get a few even in bad conditions. Hope your sounder is OK. Next time make sure you get some pics, remember no pics, it didn't happen mate!

Itching for the weekend, hope the weather holds as predicted.
