G'day guys,
Well today thought we'd head out in search of a new spot. Had a look on the sounder and spotted something that looked rather interesting and anchored up. Fishing 2 sets of gear, one heavy, one light and the light one took off on freshly pumped yabbies. YOU BEAUTY!! Here's me with my best catch of the day a nice 35cm bream, caught on a 3-5kg ugly stick, shimano threadline and 3kg nylon. This little beauty pulled and is now about to be in my belly!
Happy fishing guys!

Well done Woppa. You can cook for me any day! Got any good recipes for squid?? ;) Top breambo, they can really go hard. Taste good too.
Enjoy!
Rich :)
Well Done Ronnie! :D
I, too, like the odd breambo for tea! As a matter of fact, I have just polished off a couple that my Hubby caught at Caloundra on Sunday night! Lovely!
Cheers

Okay guys,
To reply to the squid recipe, my favourite is salt and pepper squid. Here's what you do
Coat the squid with cornflour and shake off any excess flour. Deep fry the squid in small batches for 3-4 minutes, or until crisp.
Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with the salt and pepper mix.
Salt and pepper mix:
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon mixed ground black and white pepper
2 teaspoons caster sugar
small pinch of five-spice powder
Serve it on a simple salad of shredded iceberg lettuce, lime halves, spring onions, coriander and a finely chopped chilli.

As for the fish last night... it was something i made up. Combined all ingredients in the mortar and pestle. I don't know the amounts as we did it by taste... Here's what was in it.
Lime juice (probably about 2 limes worth)
Lime Rind
Ginger
Garlic
Chilli
Coriander Root and stems
Mint
Palm Sugar
Fish Sauce (just a dash)
Pinch of salt and pepper
I think that's about it really. Cut big slits in the fish and just covered the fish with the sauce and marinated it for about 1/2 hour before baking. Baked on 180C.
Stuffed the fish with brown rice and some of the marinade.
Served the fish with torn coriander leaves and steamed carrots and snow peas.
Tasted damn fine!

G'day Woppa and well done on the bream.
It appears that you're both a good angler and a good cook.
It looks delicious
