Well fellas I'd heard of a creek that produces some Monster flathead this time of the year and when I got a call from fellow Ausfisher Dylan to check it out I couldn't help but agree.
Packed the 6'6 wilson and a assortment of plastics and we were off. Warm conditions greeted us at the creek and it was a little slow to begin with I must admit.
Dylan's thoughts must have been, "I'v put on a fizzer for the big fella???"
Time ticked on with a few little enquiries before the tide turned and I heard Dylan shout "I'm on". Landed a little pike and the excitement quickly subsided. Slowly the tide turned................and the fun began. Almost in succession we've got a doulbe hook up with both Dylan and I landing lizards going 42cm each. Decide to keep one of em for the Mrs before Dylans on again with a smaller one.
A few minutes later I'm on as well beaching a nice sole (not sure of the spellin), one of the bigger specimans I've seen for a while in any creek. A welcome change as well might I add.
Then it happened. Twitch, twitch......... lift and retrieve and I'm on again. Suspecting another little lizard I casually retrieve my plakky when the thing just takes off.
"She's got a bit of weight in her mate." I tell Dylan. Getting in closer a sh!t eating grin crosses my face before another 2 quick screams on the drag.
"I reckon that's my PB mate!" :o :D
And up she finally comes. No measurement on her (my ruler isn't that big) but at a guesstimate we called 65-70cm. Stoked!!!
The plakky's doing the damage were 3&1/4" Atomic paddletails in watermalon and pumpkinseed on 1/8 jig head. Thanx for a great day Dylan and that spot is "PRISTINE" mate. That's the only way I can put it!
An experience I'll long remember. Cheers.
Total tally 5 lizards, 1pike and a sole for 3hrs fishing landbased!

Rich ;)

Maria, no fear mate. I can see why you'd want to be sworn to secrecy as well. Secret is safe and no opening of Pandora's box here. :-XConsidering the effort it takes to get there, not a spot I'd fish alot on my lonesome.
No offence taken I hope. :-? Sweet.
