Just a quick post prior to heading out fishing... :P
Took the new boat for it's maiden voyage on Friday to run in the motor prior to this morning's trip...decided to head up Pumicestone passage as wife was with me and a little blowy outside.
Thought I better throw in some whiting rods just in case the wife was keen...take a look at the result ;) A 5kg jewie :o :o :o
Will post some pics of the new rig as soon as I stop fishing :P
Cheers
Matt

Nice fish playtime, hope the boat is treating you well. What donk did you end up going for ?
I just returned from a week at the goldy, the boat performed effortlessly and ate up the 60footers wake like pacman :D

Guys
Thanks for the encouragement :)
The jew was caught on the whiting gear :o :o :o - 2 kg outfit with old two piece rod! No leader, just a ball sinker, swivel, and long shank hook :P
Rob - We keep the fish as we have never eaten jew before - after we finish the mackeral in the freezer its jew for dinner :P
mjc - boat is going great - already 7.2 hours up (only took delivery on Friday afternoon ;D). I ended up going for the 115 4st EFI Merc. Does about 40 knots WOT, and cruises at 4000rmp doing 28 kts. Fantastice fuel economy - I ran from Redcliffe, to wide caloundra, to wetern rocks, to curtin artifical and back to redcliffe on Sunday (what great weather ;)) for 50 litres! Sounds like you are happy with yours also...might have to organise a profish M&G... ;)
Cheers
Matt
