Mud Island Sunday Night

Headed out late sunday night to take full advantage of the excellent conditions.

Got to a spot I hadn't tried for a while about 9.30pm. Only other boat that was out there was on the spot I wanted to fish. Ah well moved about 50 meters south and anchored up.

Things were very slow for a while until the berley started to have an effect then it was on.

My seven year old son was the first on, netting a beautiful 58cm snapper. He was so stoked. I am still hearing about it today. Every fish after that one had to be compared to his.

Things were quite hectic for the next few hours with all of us catching a few good ones each. Fresh mullett fillet did the job for us on this occasion.

We released plenty around the 35cm mark, had to save room for the bigger ones.

My mate and I dropped two rather large specimens right at the back of the boat. How !#$@%**&! frustrating is that.

Got our bag limit and headed home. Beautiful conditions and a great night on the water.

great catch mate, mud is. is a good area to fish at. It`s a bonus when you can land quality fish like that. well done. :) :)

Good work there Hicksy. Is a blast when they come on like that. You were obviously doing all those other little things right as well. I can't wait to get out there again. This winter is turning out fantastic.

Cheech - Haven't done that well in ages. Good bait and good berley.

T - Plenty to explore around Mud. Just getting th etime and the weather is the hard part.

Hicksy, great catch, and from my point of view, whats even sooooo much better is your little fellas experience doing the catching! He'll be harrassing you for LIFE now to go fishing.....just to show you up.....and I'll bet you love that!! I know I do with my boys .

This is more than just a sport and pastime - its a lifestyle made in heaven for family time together!!
