Met up with Mike at Wello ramp at 5.40am, there was a bit of breeze blowing and there was only one trailer in the carpark :-/ But the decision was made to press on as it is not too far back to the ramp from where we go.
A reasonable trip out saw us flicking SP's at some of our fav marks before the sun got up and it wasnt long before we had fish coming over the side of the boat. Third fish of the morning, and a nice 40cm squire hits the esky. :) Not long after Mike gets a screaming run on his reel and then thinks he has dropped it. Winds in a bit, and the line tightens again and the fight starts. 5 or so minutes later and a nice 58cm squire hits the floor. Not a bad day so far. ;)
Fish continued to come aboard on a regular basis as we fished through increasing breeze, increasing swell and huge showers of rain all morning. Didnt matter though, we continued on as we were still catching fish. All up for the morning we got 8 keeper squire between 38 and 58, plus a nice 34cm tailor. Back at the ramp by 10.00am and home eating garlic buttered tailor and squire fillets for lunch. ;D
All fish were caught on the ever trusty pumpkinseed Gulps and TT 1/8th jigheads. ;)

Will post pics on Monday after I download them ;)

Geez Beefa - I thought you must have given fishing away. Been a while between reports. Nice to see you nailing some again. Same spot as when we fished ??

Good fish BEEFA - should have done what you did instead we went down the Logan Rvr way to escape the winds and got pi#%ed from a great height! Needless to say, should have gone to Wello and braved the predicted swell.

Take Care T

Onya Beefa & Mike..... When Wello fires you are guaranteed a good feed.
58cm is a nice fish.
You braved the conditions and got rewarded.
Cheers Brent

There has also been heaps of bream at wello at the moment....

Caught about 40 the other week, only 10 keepers though.

I have always used the secret spot X you told me about about 6-7 years ago, when I was starting out a wello, Thanks BRENT!!!

GOD Bless you!

Thanks guys. Have to say, Mike had a dream day, landing a fair few quality fish. He was absolutely on fire.
Setups are basic 7 foot rods, reels loaded with 8lb fireline and 12lb yamatoyo leader. Always use the heavy guage hooks so you dont get straigthened and give yourself a fair chance of landing the bigger fish when they come. All we used yesterday was 4" Gulps in the curltail minnow. They hit them all day, luckily for us.

Gunna, same area, but we have it really sussed out now ;) Also venture over to Green Island a bit and do quite well there as well.

Good fishing guys!!

Your reports come in very reliably every time you go out.

I hope you are on the A team next weekend, are you?

Good stuff Beefaman and Mike. Good to see that you are more keen than me braving the weather conditions to get a feed well done.
