The Team from work organised a private flathead comp in the pine river today, fishing between the bears boat hire and the bruce highway bridge with plastics and hard bodies. i started the day unsure on the plastics but willing to give it ago, it didn;t take long for the first flathead of the day and my first plastic caught fish and first fish on the t curve comp. we ended up with 3 fish for the boat and a total of 6 flathead for the 5 boats fishing.
the plastic that did it for me was a 4 inch powerbait in pumpkinseed with a 1/4 1H tt jig head. sure was a great day and can;t wait for the next plastics trip. im slowly converting to the dark side
Cheers Phil

Hey phil. PUMPKINSEED??? cmon mate i think you made a mistake there haha. Yer me and phil teamed up for the comp and although we didnt nail the flatties there was a bit of size to them and there was some good fights. There was also a few undersize flatties about. A variety of squidgees also worked for myself and other boats. Fresh fish for dinner tonight phil ;)
Good trip and hope to get back out there soon. The pine always provides a flathead on its worst day and if you ever want to catch a pike the pine is the spot with many many of them today ;D.
Next mission is to target the bream for a few sessions until I can get some under my belt on SP's...only one as yet.
Cheers

You're not giving away the size of those fish there Phil. Any guesses.

Actually they do Jacksta haha. Usually its just a few head shakes and thats about it but atm its a good fight, especially when you didnt bring a landing net and your landing flatties with buckets ;D. Good fun that was.
