Hi All

Well we headed out this morning to fish the pine. I took with me my neighbour and a mate. We anchored up near my usually productive spot. First few casts and not a thing, then we started to get bomb dived from a few Turns. We were fishing a pretty shallow strip and as soon as we tossed out a pillie they would dive down on it and start to fly away with it. I tossed 1 out and it was carried away yet again. I gave the line a yank and the pillie fell free. After maybe 30 secs the rod bends in half. Line strips out and im on. After about 5 min of give and take we finally see what is doing its best frieght train impression. A 52cm flattie. I was stocked and declared to all present that my spot never fails me and that we are in for a great day.

The next 4 hours we didnt get a touch. We drifted, we anchored over some very fishy areas and then drifted again. The only thing that kept us going was that it was such a beautiful day and the company was great. We finally got a couple of bites and managed to land 3 undersize tailor and a female undersize sandie.

Even thought we only got 1 keeper is was a great day and I appreciated the 2 friends that were with me. With over 150 years of experience sitting in the boat we talked and talked all day. The fishing was just something to do with our hands. Tomorrow we are heading out to do some reef fishing and enjoy the company some more.

Thanks guys for a great day.
