fishing at the pine river today. very windy but managed to get a nice size cod just up from the pine river bridge on squid and light line. caught a few moses perch too but all undersize.

Nice one, I got an undersized Cod there the other day, near the barge just up river from the bridge. Could be a good Cod season coming up.

There were a few undersized moses perch around, too.

if its the barge i am thinking about its under the water...... about 30m to the left of the north bound bridge (make sure your facing north).

that's right, on your left as you head up river from the bridge, probably more more than 30m though. you'll see a hazard marker in the water and the barge is under water between it and the southern river bank. Bits of it are exposed and you can see its shape under the water. Between it and the bridge is a deep section where you can see the remnants of a dock. Be careful of a couple of cement posts under the water close to the bank if you plan to drift along there, they are close to shore and also expose as the tide runs out. You often see cars parked along the highway and people fishing from the bank along there.

it was past the barge - in between the barge and south pine. had great luck in the pine lately. last 3 times been out managed to get a good feed of shark , flatties and cod. caught more fish in the last couple of months then i have in years.

I've had a good run of flathead from shore around Hornibrook and have been getting to a few different spots in the tinny. It's great having such good fishing within 20 minutes of home. Hope it stays that way in the years to come.

There is another sunk barge just around the corner at kruegars rocks, fishes good at times.
Thing about the pine is all the damn ski boats and biscuit pullers. >:(
Used to really enjoy that place. :'(
