View Full Version : Caloundra Trevors and PB Flattie
;D
Had to fininsh work early on monday to pick up the heir from school.
On the way home we went past a local haunt that is known to hold some pretty big critters but I'd never caught anything before.
One of the local lads were there and flagged us down on the way past. Within 2 minutes he was on to a nice trevor.
So we raced home got the rods and proceeded to flick poppers and sps for an hour or 2.
20 mins later and another trevor was on. 5 mins later for pic 2.
amongst all the excitement the young fella pulls his PB flattie 55cm.
Wrapped...

Joel ;)
if I told you that it wouldn't be a secret haunt.
Lets just say it apprears the word is already out and the water is not tidal but is assited by a tidal drain in Caloundra.
Next target is a milk fish - I'll keep you posted.....

Okay so we know the young fella can catch flatties, but he isn't fishing the Classic this year!!! When are we going to see you holding a crocodile - this weekend maybe...? Could be your last chance to redeem yourself, that is before Armoz jnr takes a short holiday down the coast in early October ;D

well done fellas ..nice report and pics
Thanks guys, its always nice to share.
Marty z - after we go top 5 this year I will re-assess my position with the jnr angler.
I think half the point of the classic is to get away from the family and enjoy some jam time.
Jez & suze - big eye trevally I believe, supposed to be pretty tasty but tehy were all released...
Jeffo - u know nothing buddy. but Sat arvo is available for a session if ur keen. i'm off to the pin on sunday to trap some flatties and hide them for the classic. - and the shirt - I asked the camera man to focus on the logo.
Joel - not Wurtulla mate, although I am planning some jack sessions there this summer.....

Nice Trevs mate! I'd love to tackle a few on lures. My P.B. is like 30cms :(. Those ones would have given you some stick.

Hahaha, nah, haven't been down there yet, was looking at it from home. I've already decided to head up to parreara this arvo anyway, other than that I'd give your little spot a try. But if you do see an old blue lancer with duct tape on the roof down there in the next few days I'm sure to be nearby 8-)

I have fished that spot a bunch of times for nothing......... the guy who put me onto it said it was a good spot for Tarpon and Giant Herring in the heat of summer. Then after a windy day pushed me off the river I happened to meet a couple of maintainance guys were fixing the flap that lets the water into this spot and told me they see plenty of good size Jacks whenever they dive there to fix something.
Tarpon
Giant Herring
Jacks
Trevally
Bream and
Flathead
I'm definatly going to keep this spot as under my hat as possible
