First time i've been for a fish in about 5 weeks, to much work ,to many committments and football season finals for my son. The young bloke did quite well for the season with grand final in rugby union (lost), a grand final in rugby league (won)recieved Players player award and recieved Most consistent player in club. this young bloke is my shadow when it comes to fishing so when his commitment turns to football then so does the old mans. Anyway haven't been on the water for a while so today we left wynnum with a hand full of slugs and plastics. First plan was to hit green with some plastics but we were sidetracked by a few longtail that caught our eye. couldn't get a decent shot at them. but from that time on we lost sight of time and punched our way around the islands with that northerly in search of surface fish. Had a small session on plastics at green and got a few grinners but it was late in the morning. Went for one last pass of the east of green when we came across T1 and Adamy. Two of the biggest grinners i'd seen all day, when they went to the esky to show me their bagout achieved early in the morning . Now the fellas imform me that they've had schools of mackeral feeding and busting up around the boat earlier in the morning as well, you;ve got to be joking . Probably the only place we didn't bloody look. Anyway got a few days off ,so i can feel a few trips coming on... Also went and seen wynnum seniors rugby union grand finals this afternoon ,where another ausfish member richieboy had put down the rods and pulled on the boots and played a great game to take out the grand final . Congradulations mate , now all i need to do now is catch some fish

mate, the more you go out- the more the law of averages kicks in.
keep plugging away and you'll be rewarded.
just recently hit nth pine dam after no joy for a while salt-wise and got 3 bass in 6 hours!
gotta hate those brothers boys (the union club, that is) my son's playing league next year after 2 yrs of soccer- mixed emotions to say the least as he was asked to try for the qld soccer jnr rep side... >:(

Yeh... you get that Chief.... still a nice morning to be out in the boat with your boy - now thats quality family time ;D ;D
We did notice that Garreth (spelled right?) was sun smart - while you were sun tanning... or was that burning? :P Still if I was a big unit like you - I'd probably go skins too :P 8-)
Good to see you out again - and hope to see some good posts next week - hopefully the mackies will play the game huh?! Might see you out there - planning a couple of mud runs next week with squire and mackies on the menu.

Hi Chief - you and I had the same luck. I also went out for the first time in several weeks on Friday and did not get so much as a bite. :(I went down to the 'Pin.
Ah well, we must be out of practice. ;)Will have to fix that. :)
I'm sure that it was still nice to be out on the water with that terrific son of yours. :)
Best wishes...

Gidday Cheif,
I know all about it, it's been that long for me too, and I would have had an early start except I have been waiting for 3 months to see my dentist ( yeah, good dentists you have to book months in advance) with a sore tooth. App time was 9.30am... DANG!! We went out after lunch and should have read the conditions better. Very hard to raise a scale with a northerly blowing down your neck... I would be out again this morning except for more "Committments" but hey, who's complaining? ::) There's always next weekend and there's a 1 meter Snapper out there with my name on it!! ;D ;D

nice one jimbo, its good to have a go a something different and score a few fish, mate looks like the boy might be just trying the waters with a change of codes. I think if a kid has talent in one game they can usually take that to another.
g/day charlie ,feels like that doesn't it mate, keep pushing on through untill it starts to fire again. Gee I hope it isn't to long
Scalem, your dead right there is always next time

I lost count of the number of trips I went with no fish :( :( :( But time on the water will get you back on the right side of the scorers ledger. ;D ;D ;D
There are always more bad days and just enough good days to keep the faith going that the are fish out there ;D ;D ;D
Next time chief, next time ;) ;) ;)
Peter :)
