Hi

I had some moderate success at Dicky Beach through the week. Fished both early morning and late afternoon. Got a few whiting with the best at 29cm and also got a nice bream and a lots of little dart. I kept one of about 25cm as I had not eaten them before. Not too bad.

Considering my beach fishing sessions before this week could be counted on one hand I was prety happy to catch what I did. The rod was 8 foot with a 4000 size spinning reel. If this success continues I might have to invest in a specialist surf rod and an Alvey!

Alos tried a couple of arvo's at Currimundi Lake for only small whiting and a little tarwhine.

Regards

Chris

Na Chris stick with the spin rig just get a 10ft6 Live Fiber rod as dart and whiting are good fun on them. The dart are good fresh, if bleed and baked whole.

Chris go the Alvey :) :) :) Can't beat them in the surf will just about double your catch straight away ;D ;D ;D

I fish a fair bit in the passage but mainly in my boat. I do see quite a few guys go across to bribie and fish off the surf side. I might look at that one day and let you know how I go, still have 4 or so surf rod with Alveys I haven't used in years :D :D :D

Peter :)

outdoor guy, you were sworn to secrecy..... Don't worry about that chris, keep an eye out on the rising tides on dusk and join us chasing GTS and Tailor around caloundra - that will take whiting and bream to the extreme....
Also curri lake and sp's seem to work well. Keep it up mate

Thanks guys.

I was fishing between the rocks and the wreck.

I did try the SP's at Currimundi Lake (near Hargreaves Street ) but did not catch anything although I lost the tail on one SP. I mainly used yabbies I pumped there.
