Thought Id try a prawnstar lure for a change. Jacks were the target after the southerlies, but no luck. Pulled a 70-cm lizard at first light tho. On the boat for a quick photo and back in for a swim she goes. Also got 2 estuary cod on the same lure, both 31cm, and a small trevally about 35cm on a river to sea hardbody.

I found a few new spots to try next time Im out, and then off to work by 7.45am. The water seems to be getting cleaner again, it should be good conditions for the next few mornings.

Cheers
Andrew

Nice Lizard Gecko. Did you pick it up around the mouth of the Coomera?

I think the coomera is a bit underated as a fishing spot. I have caught plenty of fish there over this year and te variety is amazing. The funiest thing is that I seem to do better is the busy reaches of the river than the more pristine /natural parts of the river.

Cangrats on the fish and it must be great to be able to have a fish before work.

Cheers

Very impressive. Some nice fish. :) Have been meaning to look around for those Prawnstar lures to give them a go. Can anyone give me a clue where to start looking for them? Thanks....

Got him drifting across the mouth of the river boys.

The Coomera is underrated, its been so good to me over the past 12 mths, that I havent really worked over some other spots that I know work well in the nerang.

Nothing in the coomera guys. not worth fishing. ;)
The boys are just telling stories. (I wish they would stop)

Max, wasnt it you who asked just where the fish was caught.....? ;) Dont worry, Im just ribbing you ;D

I was really suprised that members who fish the coomera were asking me to tell them where I caught the fish. Anyone with a google can read these reports at anytime in the future, so Im usually happy to be more specific if you PM me. You never know, I might also have lied about where I caught it, too. ::)

But nevertheless, I agree with you all. I shall call my reports "Broadwater" area from now on.

Best wishes to all the guys who fish the Coomera, come and say hi if you see me on the water. Do you all have ausfish stickers on the boat? I do.

Good fishing there Andrew,

Lucky enough to be down that way on Sunday myself and caught a similar sized trevor on a gulp sight casting as it attacked some bait against a rock wall. Exciting stuff, and a good fight on light gear, although the fight is usually pretty clean - not like a jack!
