good flattie ,great cod!@

fished the upper tinnie creek spot x with good mate Rich this morning with great results. manage to get there while the tide was still low and managed to net some great sise poddy mullet which we later used for live bait..... we firstly decided to have a flick with the softies to try our luck where i managed to pick up a nice flattie 55cm which believe it or not on a sp is a pb for me... which went quite ok on 6pd line... flattie was released

We then decided to settle in for a live baiting session. as soon as i set the rod i was immediantly on with a small 30cm red spot eastury cod which went back.

after the next broing half hour or so i look over to see Rich just grab his rod as it was making it's way into the water with a big hit on the live bait... he carefully played the fish and ended up landing a couple of kilo black spot 54cm cod specimun. beng landbased we were quite chuffed with this fish and this will make it on the dinner table tonite....

we were chasing jacks but temp and humidity let us down we think but was stoked with how the session went..

ended up dropping my digi cam in the water so it was lucky that all the pics were on rich's cam and will be posted up later.

Will be back to give that spot another go

Certainly right about that Dylan.
Mate hearing that drag scream off your reel when the lizard was on, was music to my ears. Gotta admit you also did well to land the big girl on 6lb line.
As Dylan reffered to earlier I had my work cut out due to having the old Plakky rod goin when my bait rod got smacked. Had to quickly get set the rod between my legs before the other rod went swimming. ;D ;D I'll know better for next time. ;)
Seeing the line strip off my baitcaster and the generous bend in my rod I knew she had some weight to her and I was just praying to see Red in amongst those swirls. 54cm was certainly a PB for me and I reckon she would have gone 5-6lb in the old scale.
The autopsy did show crabs and plenty of em champ.
i had another good hit soon after but missed it.
All the pics are on the computer and I will resize em and whack em on later tonight after work.
Thanx again for a great session and looking forward to the jacks when it starts warming up. It's only a matter of time.

I agree totally mate. Add to the fact that I had a few troubles trying to resize the pic, didn't help our cause. She was a solid girl tho.
We certainly had a top sesh and will have to do it again soon. I'll give ya a hoy.

Sorry mate for the late response. It certainly isn't a secret creek but there are a few deep holes up there that would hold good fish. Quite a long creek though if you know what I mean. ;) :P
Tingalpa Creek is located near Thorneside Train station (Brisbane). A birdge runs over it along Rickert Rd. You shouldn't have any dramas finding it in a UBD.

Dirtysanchez: We've gotten a few solid lizards at that spot. Dylan must have been feeling generous.

T1: Mate, you're just going to use those tasty squid to catch every bay snapper around Mud. ;D ;D
Seriously tho, we'll do it soon, hopefully they're still around. I'm still queing up for the T1 charters.
