Morning Ausfishers. After my recent effort with fellow Ausfisher Dylan in the mangroves I decided to take an early morning wade down the creek and try get some sun on the arms.
After all I was startying to turn white! :P
Arriving down Tinny I was greeted with galssy conditions and not a cloud in the sky.
The plan was to flick plakkys in some deeper holes I'd noticed earlier and after 20mins of trekking I had my 1st cast. Another 2 and I was on to a little lizard, which was released. Another half hr yeilded 1 more little fella so I called it quits and waded off to my regular. Alot more of the same followed with the biggest fish landed 47cm and the majority just under legal. I lost count after about 10 fish.
It was then that I noticed an interesting swirl in front of me and saw 1 of the biggest squid ever. Only in about 15cm of water and sitting still as. It wasn't even shy when I went up to it. I got within a metre before it registered and glided off about another meter. The big girl looked twitchy and I'd seen it change colour when getting predatory.
Suddenly a puff of sand to my right and off went the squid after a little flattie. Pretty speckie I must say. :o
All fish were released and all in all I had a top morning. And I'm black again!! ;)
Cheers Richie
PS: I thought I'd dabble in a bit of photo journalism and included a pic of one of the legals. The water was so clear and not a hint of Northerly either.
