Fished caloundra this weekend but it was very slow. :( Concentrated around the military jetty area and under the pelican waters bridge for quite some time but failed to get anything substantial. I did however manage one fish, a keeper flatty of 45cm on would you believe it a live herring. I would never of thought such a small flatty would take live bait. Apart from that had one small herring bitten clean in half the next day by what i presumed another flatty but mistook the bite for a bump in the sea floor (still getting used to my new braid). For the amount of time i put in and the efforts i made i found this trip quite dissapointing with no other convincing runs on live bait. However it was still good to get out for a fish ;)

P.S only other fish of note caught while i was there was a small mackeral which is a pleasant surprise for the area.

P.S.S concerning my recent post 'changes at caloundra' i spotted a dredger moored up to the jetty in front of gemini resort. So it appears that they are dredging the passage!!!!

nice work dylan who caught the mack or did one of your local friends catch it and what did it measure. i did alright today using dead herring. gar fillits and yabbies got a flatty small but keeper, and a bream, craig got a 29cm whiting but that is usual for currumbin. i also got a really good run on a herring by what i think was a massive flatty i hooked it but cut me off :'(
