Went for an explore land based around some of the Canals around Ashmore after a squiz through the Gold Coast Boat Show.
Cast some hardbodies and SPs to likely spots, got hit many times, hooked up to quite a few decent weighted fish but dropped the hooks after a few minutes of good fighting.
Picked up a 45cm queenie on 2kg spin, 2" minnow type hard body. Was a great little fight in a spot which saw quite a bit of surface action for about 5 minutes at a time over half an hour.
No pics, but went great on the BBQ for Sunday Lunch.

Hey duyz, nice to see you got some action in my neighborhood. My office is in Ashmore, but theres no canals here? Did you mean Ashmore rd- Bundall, or maybe Benowa?
You must have been close to the turf club Bundall ? I thought I already knew all the good spots around here. No need to be too specific if you you prefer.
Well done on the queenie, thats one fish Im still to catch.

Gecko - being a Coast boy I grew up around Labrador/Runaway Bay/Biggera waters area. So to me Ashmore is anything from Nerang to Southport to Carrara, Benowa used to be considered rather small.
I remember when people living in Cotlew St still had outdoor dunnies.
Behind Ashmore Steak and Seafood there are a whole set of canals sitting there not developed yet.
At times I would have been in benowa, nerang or carrara depending on which street I was in lol
I used to live in Labrador, across the road was Biggera Waters and around the corner was Runaway Bay lol.

Greg - pedestrian mate, many of those places are 'laked off' so a boat would be useless unfortunately.

Greg - kinda sucks too having to walk all over the place.
