Went for a fish the sarvo with lukesnapper to try and get him his first jack for the season. Got on the water about 5 and put the electric down had 2 casts and my rod starts going off. Funny thing was it wasnt the rod in my hand it was one in the boat. Picked it up and the stretch 12+ had manage to hook up on an 80kg brute! Got him right though the big toe with a super sharp size 2 owner treble. Luke was VERY brave and pulled it out. ;D ;D Geez it would of hurt though. Went right in down to the gape of the treble. OUCH.
Fished on and about half hour later casting around some pontoons i see a flash come from under one and smash the shallow gold bommer about 3m in front of me and about a foot under the water. Was pretty awesome to see and after a short battle a nice little jack comes aboard. A couple watched the action from their deck and had a chat to us about the fish. Took a couple of quick pics offered the fish to the couple and they didnt want it so released it. The couple then gave me a little round of applause for the show and the release of the fish which i thought was quite funny but nice.
Fish for another 2 hours hoping to get another double up and lukes first jack for the summer but wasnt to be.
Hope your toe feels a bit better tomorrow Luke.
