Hi everyone

Went on a quick bay trip on Tuesday, saw the sea breeze website showing no wind at all in contrast to the forecast but it came in about 9 am making things quite unpleasant in the open Bay. The fish were on the bite though. First 2 drops with the bait jig got nailed- the first jig was lost completely and the second came up with half a yakka quivering on the end. Initially every bait we dropped was taken although we were bitten off through 100lb mono at least 6 times. It lasted half an hour and we ended up with one nice schoolie at 75cm and a squire of 58cm before the bite dropped off at high tide. We left then as it was difficult to stand up in the conditions- 20kn S'easter. It looks like it'll be a good season on macks, but we might have to start using wire.

Rob7,

Which part of the bay were you fishing ??

The beacons around the Spitfire ??

I was out spinning for macks around the Beacons West & South of Tangalooma last weekend. Didn't see much action but lost 2 School Mackerel beside the boat.

Cheers
Craigie.

I think I am too addicted to fishing. I get all excited reading a good post and see fantastic pics of the catch. Makes me want to chuck a sicky, wag work and wet a line but I am too loyal. Bugger! :-/ ::) Imagine the frustration of getting an invite to go fishing this Saturday but I promised a gorgeous young lady (daughter of a friend) to help her move house. I just hate turning down a fishing trip. Even flipped a coin but still lost. ;D ;D Congrats on your catch mate. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

nice couple of fish there, that schoolie would have produced some nice fillets. Well done
