Thought I'd give the lizards a visit up the passage this morn, so hit the road at 4.30 am and headed up the highway to Donnybrook.
First sign that all was not well was hearing old mate from the BOM on nuggets show humming and hahing about the early strength of the nor wester this morn, and lo and behold I stepped out of the car at the ramp to be greeted with a nice lazy 10 to 15 knots of dirty wind.
Nothing for it but to push on, but today the fishing was tuff, with wind and run out tide combineing to make the tinny fair skate along the edge of the banks.
The usual line up of under size lizards was dealt with, but at the mo Im struggling to find some size, with one fish bang on 40 released (worried he may shrink in the ice slurry and be a problem if the fisheries boys say hello), and one other nice fish lost after a good fight and a bit of a head shake.
Didnt even see him, maybe cause I had flattened the barb on the jig head in order to help with quick release of all the unders Im catching lately.
Picked up a little trev on a squidgy for a bit of difference, then headed up Hussey again to work over some bank structure on the flood tide, and to get out of the wind.
No jack today, AGAIN, but a couple of liitle cod kept me interested, and I found some nice submerged structure in 12 foot of water on the low thats just crying out for a livey, so maybe better luck next time?

Hope you all did better than me

cheers

Brian
