Hi all,
went out the front of bribie sat morning (25th) with the aim of chasing tuna or mackeral or anything that would take our lures or bait. Never having gone out there before ,mainly due to bad weather every time we reach the ramp, we headed out the the pearl banks (i think) and as it was low tide threw slugs around the edges for no hits.
We then trolled a hard body and a metal slug around whilst looking for birds or unseen schools after an hour, and geoff getting ill we headed back in a bit towards the shore when we got the hit on the hard body.
as the fight got closer to the boat we realised what it was, then a torrent of exited expleatives, and netted spotty of 82cm ;D. it was agreed to troll again and the lures we back out and as I was going along I swear I could see them(mackeral) all over the place swiming out of the way of the boat. Flynny came up and couldn't see them so we stopped and flynny and I threw out pillies whilst geoff threw up the burly :-[.
Within 2 mins of the drift flynny was busted off and a spotty flicked the surface in my direction and a couple of quick cranks to get the pillie back up and i was on and at about 90cm there was another spotty in the esky and more cheering ;D. I was back in the water whilst flynny was re rigging and I felt a tap and gave the rod to F and he was on and at 105cm we couldn't believe our luck, at this point geoff said time to go as he was getting more ill and we had got one each but F and I couldn't leave the best fishing I had ever had. 2 more pillies out the back and F was busted off again and i was on again and another 90cm was in the esky :) ;) :D ;D 8-) ::).
All that was in half an hour 4 spottys and 2 bust off's, they were thick as, but we had to go in so fished the passage for a while and got a sweetlip which was a first and any other day would have been exiting. Sorry for the long post if you've made it this far but for our first trip out and to get such great fish very happy will post photo(only one dig most are on film)when i get it on the comp.
