hey all

was out , doing what i do on my days off, fishing my usual spot with a mate and we spent all morning up and down the banks trying different casting spots.

All that we had managed over a good few hours was a solitary cat fish that was caught on chicken guts.

So we were about to call it a day when my mate spots a tonne of medium sized bream, from the top of the rocks that we were walking along. He goes "just a couple of throws and we'll go" Ive gone down the rocks with him and hooked up a 2" pumkinseed minnow and tossed in a couple of time with no luck, and alas the catch cry came out "just one last cast" ;D

The little pumpkinseed had barely made it to the bottom on its second dive and got smashed. I was finally on. When the lizard surfaced, he went a lovely 53cm .............

And that one fish made the day all worthwhile ;D

I don't know what it is about pumpkinseed in placcies but almost everthing with fins loves them. That's a perfect sized flatty for the table. Well done.

Nice fish mate.

Were you using a 2" berkley micro by any chance?

They have caught me loads of good fish .

When the fish shut down the 6lb gear comes out and the micro always catches a fish.

Shame I didn't spend up big in July when they were 2 packs for $5 at #########. :(

Pete.
