Cairns Inlet jacks and cod

Gave the inlet a go this morning and found plenty of action on baits around the snags. Got two Jacks and three Cod, plus got wiped out twice by big fish that couldn't be stopped in the timber on 30 pound braid. Had a bit of a troll but no good on lures.

Nice going scuttlebutt. I see a lot of jack reports of late and would dearly love to get out and get one for myself. Have come close but am still a Jack virgin. Nice cod too by the way. Well done.

Have you caught many jacks trolling the mangrove banks in the Inlet? A mate of mine pulled 4 jacks to 42cm last week on the troll in the Inlet.

Thanks guys, as you can probably see in the last pic it's pretty trecherous country and fish don't have to go far to reach safety, but that's where they like to hang out.

Mathias, yeah I've had a couple of great sessions trolling in the Inlet, though none the other day.
