monday 18th headed up burrum river for a 2-3 day fish and camp on boat was a bit blowy but that will keep the pests out 1st bad omen when putting pots in up a creek the canopy bent a branch back as i went to release it i tilted the boat enough to do that it smacked me in the forhead i got cut some bruising fished for a while caught a 57cm flattie and a grunter had something else on but that dived into the mangrove roots then took a nice size cod come late arvo checked pots bunch jennies but also nice feed of bucks i cleaned and broke them into portions put some onions to frying in the pan 2nd bad omen had time to wash cod been out of water some time but as i leaned over to wash him he came to life and jumped out of my hand 3rd bad omen i had leaned over so far the pan came off the cooker and spilt hot oil over my foot i put it stright into the water (lucky it was there) still hurt some went back to cooking (after picking up onion off deck ) put in the crab for a little while then water when all crab is red in goes maggie curry noodle pkt took 90mins to eat it all drinking homebrew as i went till none left slept till morn; then headed home had to 3 bad omens and no beer left
