Decided to give Pine River a flick the sarvy to catch a jack, jewie or a trev on the plastics on a run in tide dieing of round dusk. So put the boat in bout 4:30ish and headed up stream a bit. Stopped at the start of deepwater bend and 2 cast later with a plastic scored a nice little flattie at 39cm…1cm of being legal… darn!!
Anyway threw it back in and headed up past the boat ramp and down to the wreck. Had a few casts there and then my dad has a nice hit and then hooked up to a nice fish. After a nice fight and many calls for a jack up comes a nice golden trev on a squidgy slic rig!! (Pic attached).
Headed up stream to the rock walls and saw some bait getting smashed by something big then little trevs every now and again would come and have a go at the bait. So headed up to the rock wall with no hits only getting the lure out of the tree a few times and then headed back to the ramp as the glare of the sun was almost gone.
Nice arvy on pine with not many boats on the water but having no sounder though which made things a bit hard
Cheers,
