Hi all,
Some help please. I have an 93 Toyota Hilux ute and I want to install a tool box on the tray.
I don't want to loose sleeping lentgh by intalling it across the tray so I'll be installing it lenghtwise.
So, do I put it on the passenger side or the driver's side of the tray ???

Whatever turns you on the most Luc.
I saw some great boxs at Bunnings today for $189.
Theywere finished in grey hammar finish and are kinchrome brond. They have lock tabs as well. I will get one this week end I think.
Cheers Kev.

Thanks Kev,
I was interested from the point of weight distribution as I'm mostly by myself in the ute and am of generous size. When I go camping, I usually load the heavy stuff such as eskis on the passenger side.
I'll have a look at those boxes myself. The other contender at this stage are the big plastic army style ones. Would love a custom made one from checker plate aluminium but the cost might be frightening.

If you wanted to balance out the weight, you could put a smaller one on each side.
And as you say that you sleep on the tray, the two toolbox's would keep a tarp lifted up off your head (if you have your head at the cabin end) in the same way as a swag!
