Was seriously thinking about hiting this " much talked about place " on the weekend of the 16th-17th October.

No boats or fishing gear, just the Nissan, a tool box and some beers. OH, OK tent !

Was about to ask you where Black Duck Creek was, but had a google and found out its "South of Gatton". That right?
What is the attraction, besides beer in pleasant surroundings and (apparently) aboriginal rock art?
Is there fishing available and you are choosing not to, or is it not that sort of joint?
Any more info (eg is it on the national parks website or something)

it's 4 x 4 weekend. so far lots ( 30 odd ) are heading out to create havoc. apparently.

Was out at Black Duck 4WD and motor cross park 3 weekends ago for a motor cross/4WD effort with some mates. Can't recommend that place highly enough. Spent the weekend drinking (in moderation, of course ;D) at night around the fire, and the day time filled with admiring the ability of our 2 and 4 stroke contraptions. Great 4WD'ing tracks in excellent condition, varying degrees of challenge. Plenty of room to roam around and some awesome scenery too. Slept out under the stars in perfect weather.
