Older Jackaroos

I'm looking at an older Jackaroo for a car to get to work and back, and then on weekends a bit of four wheel driving. Are the older ones anygood, all I know its a Turbo.. I'm planning on going to check it out on the weekend but though I had better get some facts before going out.
