G`day guys just wondering if anyone knows what the towing capacity is for one of these. I`m looking at buying an old 4WD just for towing my boat to and from the ramp and for alittle bit of camping.

FJ40 Towing Capacity: 3000lbs. I think there is 2.2lb/kilo which equates to 1363kg.

Go for it, I got two Shorty 40's. No problems towing as long as the tow ball weight is right. I tow my tinny and my 575 Cruise Craft with one of mine, no dramas.
Hope this Helps

There are a couple of 45's for sale on this board at the moment.
I think the utes may have a higher tow rate.
Great vehicle the only thing that kills them are the tin ants so check for that. Aftermarket panels are cheap and come in fibreglass. A complete body can be bought for a 40 in glass.
