same as putting a nut behind the wheel of any other car. I own a 82 landcruiser and I have better vision than most the main reason for purchasing a 4X4 is I have a back injury and if I get bogged the 4x4 will get me out without pushing the car etc I can also drive this vehicle without hurting my back as mine is a highway version 4x4 with softer suspension. I am relaxed whilst driving this vehicle I have never been booked in it for any offence (lack of revenue for the government) however I have been booked in most of my other vehicles usually driving at a speed I feel comfortable in that particular vehicle. I do feel however that Some drivers should not be behind the wheel of a 4x4 or any other vehicle as they fail to make any effort of looking where they are going and this is because the fairer sex see men reversing whilst looking forward and they do not realise that the men are actually using a rear vision mirror or two or three to ensure they do not runover anyone. As for rear vision are we going to take all ambulances, paddy wagons, and other commercial vehicles off the road as they rely on side mirrors of course not!!! all accidents are caused by mistakes not speeding or anything else just mistakes not 4X4's I am 49 years old and have never injured another road user or myself except when I come off my motorcycle. Anyone whom harrasses 4x4 owners is unstable and should seek medical treatment at once. In one year I owned 13 cars so I am experienced when it comes to driving different types of vehicles cars, trucks and motorcycles and I am using and sharing the road with 4x4 also the diesel are extremly ecenomical and I can't under stand why the diesel is now more expensive than petrol when it is cheaper to produce. So....
G'day Bill, welcome to the boards, How are ya?

In almost 25yrs of driving I've NEVER had an accident - NEVER.

rootyou .....bizarre

Might pay to have a quick read through before posting, I am trying to understand the fairer sex bit, did you mean we don't use rear vision mirrors for reversing. Not this little black duck.

in a seven day period i was almost run down by a fairer sexed neibhour whom was reversing out her driveway with out looking on both occasions I had to jump out of the way she drove a commadore at the time and now works in a daycare center.

No I don't think my comments are too heavy for first time listing as some people really turn my stomach on the road and I can't remember one of them driving a 4X4.

Isn't Agnes Water in Queensland Roz? Nice peice of Flesh there Roz!!!

What sort of Orange 4x4 you got Chris and what are your proud modifications that you have done to your vehicle. Just to get you started.

when you say you have been booked in other vehicles you have owned kinda says to me that you cannot read a speedo too well. I have been booked also but I do not blame the car for it...I have both 4wd and a sedan and I would much rather drive the sedan..far more comfortable..quieter and safer if in an accident...especially the t bone type.
