Hi All
I have just bought a Suzuki Jimny and must say that I am very happy with it.
I'm looking to upgrade the suspension, add diff locks, snorkel, new wheels etc and would like to know if anyone has gone down this path - all indications so far are that they are quite a capable vehicle once these additions are made.
Cheers

I have heard of a transfer case modification that can be done.
It uses a transfer from a siera and allows the final drive reduction when fitting large wheels.
Go to outerlimits and the guys and gals there will fill you in on the details.

Yeah, you would never have to worry about rust control. Landrovers have that built in. He He He

Hi Guys
Thanks for your thoughts on the Jimny.
I guess my dream car would be a Landcruiser trayback all tricked up but I thought I would start small.
Have seen some interesting articles on bulit-up Jimnies and it seems that are almost unstoppable in rough country unless you do something stupid.
I guess its hard to put a price on fun!
I pormise to buy a bigger fourbie next time!

Hey Peter, on a serious note, I think that you will be happy with a Jimny. As long as it suits the needs that you have, it should never let you down. 4WD Monthly drove a stock standard one across the desert for under $1k.
Have a look at some of the 4WD sites and you will be able to find out as much info as you like about them.
Outerlimits goes down to vehicle spedific forums, and 4WD Monthly Forum has a heap of members that do all sort of things. Join some of these or just have a look through them. May also pay to get onto the Suzuki club, there are guys there that have done wonders to the likes of Jimny's.
Cheers

Sounds neat, getting the balance right is the most important thing. Having huge lift with no travel does nothing as far as forward movement goes. Seen alot of Cruisers and Patrols with 4 and 6 inch lifts that can't go anywhere near as far as a good 2" lift.
It pays to keep it sensible and usable. Will be interested to see how things go with it.
