Just before the rain slowed down and I could take this pic, there were waves about a foot high coming down this road.

This guy was ahead of us driving out to Mt. Garnet Rodeo for the weekend. And yes we walked it. Strong current pushed a wheel off the road.

Right at the moment this pic was taken the Toyota decided it didnt like the water coming into the engine. Here it stayed untill about 2 hours later when the next pic was taken.

This creek steadily rose over the next 2 hours.........6 inches of rain earlier that morning at the ranges didnt help............By the time I took this next pic all you could see was 2 inches of that white roof sticking out above the water...........Still kicking myself I didnt get closer to get the roof in the picture

That's awesome mate!!
I used to travel that road to see my patients at the Mapoon clinic and used to love it! Not many Doctors get to go crazy 4wding to work!!
Ahhhh...... I'm missing FNQ too!!

Cahill Crossing Kakadu, the truck stayed on the crossing for about 3 months

Tthe truck is on the back of a semi and low loader I'll see if I can find the photos I have of it at the peak of the wet, and also the photos of what was left of it at the beginning of the dry before they could dragged it off the crossing.
